With my DIY shelves up, I turned back to the other side of the room to get my computer station up to snuff. Now my happy place is my happier place with the addition of some plants and some wall space dedicated to working projects.
I missed my chalkboard wall desperately from my last studio. It’s where I kept current projects out in front of me, where I would edit artwork and collections for A Sunny Afternoon and it also was home to a list of future projects and things I needed to keep in the back of my mind and not let slip away. Not to say I don’t still keep my notebook and calendar updated, but I like to have big picture things and future goals out where I can see them. I’ll swear that it helps make them happen and it also made a big difference in getting me feeling settled.
Clearly Cracker is having no problem in that department.
… and the plants! Since my backyard has been taken over by trash piles and workmen, I brought some of the outdoors in. I bought the plants and pots all at home depot. I can’t say their pot selection is amazing, but they are affordable, so I picked out pots that I liked the shape of and ignored the ugly colors. When I got home I unleashed a can of matte white spray paint on them and suddenly all was right in my plant world.
Now I just have to address the lighting situation with new fixtures and maybe some skylights.
Such a nice place to work! Loving the bright atmosphere and the green plants 🙂 always helps to have some nature around 🙂 And I love putting my work ideas on walls as well, it’s so helpful!
