Since my last bedroom post, we hung a Debbie Carlos print and installed some new Cedar & Moss sconces. Although the new bedroom has been coming along slowly (building it from the ground up didn’t speed up the process. :), it has been so great filling it only with items I love (a practice in editing, for sure) and knowing the designers and artist behind pieces like the print and lights makes each one even more special.
In last bedroom update I was also on the search for the perfect nightstand and as I mentioned then, finding a good nightstand is a difficult feat. Well, finding a good one that has a very specific measurement… even harder. Turns out 24″ – 26″ wide nightstands aren’t the norm so I started looking for alternatives. I may eventually end up making my own but as soon as I saw this vintage chair and the measurements were dead on, I had to have it. I have always loved the casual look of a side chair as a nightstand (a couple great examples here and here). Now I just need to find it a mate for Rupe’s side.
Looks great! Question: how did you decide to hang the print? I have the same one (LOVE it!) but haven’t hung it yet because framing is too expensive and I’m worried that if I just tack/velcro/clip it up it will tear (the paper is so thin). Thoughts or advice?
Hi Lynn,
I just have it tacked up for now with poster tack and it is holding ok for now. Eventually I plan to get some plexiglass cut to the size of the print for the front and back and use framing clips to hold it all together.
Your bedroom looks fantastic! Love the Debbie Carlos print. I feel your pain on searching for furniture with a very specific measurement. I have been on the hunt for a coffee table that is taller than most standard modern tables. It seems like vintage is the way to go, but finding one and that fits our budget is turning out to be like a needle in a haystack!
Hi Sarah! Just a thought, as I was looking at similar dimensions for nightstands. we got two Ikea Rast dressers, painted them, put in new hardware, and we love them. Admittedly, it was quite a bit of effort, but for under a $100, but we were able to get the exact color and finish we wanted. They’re also really nicely proportioned as a set of nightstands. (and if you do this, send me that adorable chair!)
Sarah my love- how is progress on the outside front going? When when when will you reveal? I cant wait to see the curb appeal of your adorable home! Everything you have shared with us so far is amazing!
Beautiful room! Love everything about it…. Simplicity, colors, just beautiful. Would you mind sharing the name of that rug. I can’t take my eyes off it. I think I might need this!
Do you have roller blinds in your home? Or are the windows bare, with exception of bedroom?
Busy remodeling at the moment, and love the open window frames.
beautiful sconces!

I just love how it’s coming together. That print is gorgeous!
