I found these simple plant stands on Amazon and liked the hairpin legs but thought they needed a little something, which is where the spray paint and rope came in.
Supplies needed:
Plant Stands // Large // Small
Spray Paint (this is the best copper I’ve found)
Rope
Step 1: Spray paint those puppies! Step 2: Tie one end of the rope next to one of the legs on the plant stand. Cut the rope at about 10 feet or so and loosely wrap around your hand so you can easily pass the rope through the inside sections.
P.s. The one on the left is called a rubber plant and the one on the right is called monstera… and you can find the simple white pot here.

Very jazzy and so simple to do! Very versatile, too. You could adapt this idea to get a lot of different looks depending on the kind of rope and type of paint you use.
Eeek! These are so cute Sarah, love them. Gonna have to make one myself.
This is amazing!! I almost never do DIYs but since you’ve shared links to all the items you used… It seems hard to fail! Think I’m gonna go for it. Thanks so much for the great idea and sources. It’s hard to find a cute plant stand these days that isn’t that $150 one from west elm haha
Hello.
Your blog is an inspiration to me. I admire your work and the way you put your signature in every little detail. Can’t wait to see more of the A-frame.
Best Regards

!!!! This is without a doubt my favorite DIY plant stand (and I look at a lot of DIY plants stands). Gorgeous and brilliant!
I’m totally going to try this! Thank you! So you don’t think scuffing up the stand or using primer is necessary the ? Just wanted to check before I tried this!!
Love this so much! You are so talented!
I asked a question on your IG account but thought maybe to ask here. With your copper obsession would you do your Tarva 6 drawer hack for your cabin house in the copper stay paint and knobs in copper or keep as is? I am suddenly torn between doing that specific Tarva hack you featured a while back for your cabin or doing the legs copper and nobs copper. What would you suggest?
Also what white paint on your walls did you use in your studio?
Thanks!
Hi Julie,
I still love gold/brass too. It will always be my first love. In that room I would do the gold over again.
These are the cutest! I am definitely going to have to try out this DIY. Thanks for sharing!
Cheers!
