I realized I’ve shared the far side of our backyard
quite a bit, but never posted the final patio/back of the house since we added on the bedroom and laundry room, which has now become a great little landing pad/hang out spot when friends come by. We had the deck built connecting from the laundry room to our bedroom (which you can see the beginnings of here
) and although the space is quite small, with a little help from Target
we have now made the deck inviting as the rest of the yard i.e. the pergola
and the larger patio area.
I started by laying down an outdoor rug
which helps to extend the living room right out onto the patio. The french doors both open up onto the patio so on the warm days we truly have the indoor/outdoor living room which we, especially the dogs and Archer, love.
And just in case you forgot how the backyard looked before we got started down our renovation spiral… here is the oh so satisfying before & after
To make the space feel casual and loungey I added some comfortable poufs and a low coffee table. And finally, I placed a couple strategic potted plants to break up all the straight lines. Hello summer… here we come.
See the full renovation progress here and the patio in the making here.
