If you follow me on snapchat (i’m @sarahssamuel there) you were able to get a good idea of how the events unfolded around
Legends, the annual design event in the La Cienega Design Quarter, a couple weeks ago but since snapchat isn’t forever and I still have a love hate relationship with it, I thought I’d share a few highlights from the design and party filled few days. I was thrilled to be asked to be an ambassador along with such a talented group of designers/writers/design bloggers… by my side was
Amber Interiors,
Dabito,
Justina Blakeneny,
Orlando Soria,
Holly Hollingsworth Phillips,
Anthony D’Argenzio,
Will Taylor, and
Marisa Marcantonio.
The first night we had the opening Gala at the beautiful Fig & Olive, and I busted out a fancy pant-suit. Formal pants!? Yes ma’am (and find a similar one here).
During the day all the shops and showrooms were a buzz with panels, keynote speakers, parties and such, and you are able to bop from one event to the next along with a bazillion other design lovers. The first morning
Hollyhock hosted a breakfast along with
Chairish and
Metropolitan Home where they asked all of the ambassadors to sit on a panel playing a “love or hate” game in which the moderators would read off an
interior design trend (new and old) and see who was currently loving or hating it. It was pretty funny hearing some of my favorite
designers duke it out over foo dogs and Moroccan poufs.
I listened to a few great panels, Nate Berkus moderated one on collected interiors that made me want to go flea marketing through Europe immediately and one of my favorite showroom/parties was the finale cocktail party where I met/saw the lovely
Rebecca Atwood and her fabric line in person for the first time and also fell in love with that adorable
pineapple wallpaper (above) by Sharon Lee.
It was my first time attending the event but I am already looking forward to next year. If you have the chance to go I say go!
