As you know, by my recent sss atelier release of the alba collection, skirted details is number one on our most loved list. The petal-like shape of the sofa and chair skirt was inspired by the Michigan wildflower, prenanthes alba.

I’ve done quite a few skirted cabinets and sinks, but this was my first furniture piece with a pleated skirt. The box pleat feels structured and classic, but paired with the cylindrical-shaped arms and low-slung back, it’s a contemporary play on a Victorian fainting sofa.
