The traditional running bond pattern, like we used in the cabin, will always be a great choice but I wanted to do something a little different here, so I started playing around with the 3×6 shape in adobe illustrator and that’s when I came up with these alternate patterns, all which can be made with the common 3″ x 6″ subway tile. I chose to go with the herringbone pattern, which is a classic pattern for wood floors (and a million other things), but I hadn’t really seen it translated to subway tile (until I googled it that is, and found a bazillion examples…sigh 😉 (it’s ok I still love it)). The “linear vertical” would work great in a really modern space and I am already thinking I may want to try the “perpendicular” or “windmill” version when we re-do our other bathroom (Lord help us!).

It looks like it is going to be a gorgeous bathroom. So fun to see the progress that has been made. I love your gold hardware that you chose! Cant wait to see the final product when it is all complete!
Even if it’s been done before (though I hadn’t seen it either!); it still is a magazine-worthy bathroom. Really beautiful work!
Great choice. The fixtures are just absolutely stunning. Forgive me for my curiosity but your reno seems to be going incredibly smooth. Everyone I know that’s gone through one always comes out mean and angry on the other side- homicidal rage but yours seems to be going splendidly! I’m enjoying seeing it all, it’s an absolute dream home!
love! it looks amazing. Great alternative patterns! Makes the tile look so different!

Hi, I was wondering if you could please share your source for the shower glass enclosure, Im having a really hard time! Also love the oversized hex mirror from your entryway, where is it from? Thanks so much! your house looks lovely.Ana
Hi Anama,
Thank you! Both the glass shower enclosure and that mirror I had custom made which is why there is no source listed. A local shower & glass company would be your best bet.
Hi, do you by chance remember what the distance is from the wall to the center of of your pendant light (closest to the wall). I am working with a very small space and I want to make sure my pendant isn’t too close to the wall. Thanks! Love it all 🙂
Can you tell me if your photos show a 3×6 or a 4×12 subway tile? Need to decide this weekend which one I want!!
