Often, I design a whole room around the perfect slab, a favorite part of any project. And there is no better place to hang than a stone yard, so it was an easy yes when asked to collaborate with Aria Stone Gallery.

This fall, my team and I traveled to Italy, to the source itself, with the Aria Stone Gallery crew to experience hand-selecting a 12 piece collection of stones. I will never forget driving up into the quarry for the first time. The sheer scale of it is unbelievable and overwhelming in the best way. It was incredible to witness the process of the blocks coming out of the mountainside and to see where different types of marble come right from the same area.

Being able to watch the full process a stone goes through, from mountainside to processing to fabrication to finished installation, is awe-inspiring. I’m in awe every time I select slabs, whether for a project or curating this collection. It just never gets old how incredible this planet is.

I hand-selected a collection of marbles, quartzites, and granite with you in mind. I curated this collection with slabs that work as starting points for designing any room. We have some greens, rust tones, a blue, and creamy ivories—my go-to hues! I gravitate towards stones that show large blocks of aggregate, so there are a good amount of those in the collection, along with ones that have a consistent pattern and dramatic veining.

I can’t wait to see how you use this collection in your designs. Learn more about each of my picks below.

shop the collection:

01// arbescato corchia: an elegant and classic pick with delicate grey veining weaving across a white background, creating a mesmerizing design.

02// breccia versilia: this one evokes stormy summer skies overlooking lake michigan. It would bring the drama surrounding a soaking tub and transport me to those cozy, warm rainy days.

03// calacatta monet: a jaw dropper with colors resembling a Monet painting: burgundy-lilac veining, ivory tone, green veins, and splashes of gold

04// collemandina rosso: this warm, earthy, rich red with contrasting white veins is perfect for cladding walls or creating a focal point with a kitchen countertop.

05// calacatta rosa: is a marble with a dark backdrop that enhances rosato hue shapes floating across the surface.

06// red passion: an absolute favorite of the collection. I plan on using this deep burgundy stone in my sss atelier furniture line, and I’d also love to see it as a chunky sink in a powder bath.

07// fleur de la passion: ethereal beige marble, with sagey greens and blushy beige tones, brings a soothing energy to any space.

08// vert de estours: this subtle green stone is unique in color and delicate veining. I’m dying to use it in a kitchen paired with wood cabinets.

09// dark emperador: I just used this dark beauty as a wainscot all around the walls in a primary bathroom as well as the countertop and backsplash. It feels so luxurious.

10// calacatta macchia vecchia: a majestic creamy marble with rich grey, ochre, and golden veining patterns.

11// calacatta fantastico arni: for those looking for something unique but still classic, I’d select this stone. It has a traditional gray-colored veining, but it’s paired with a deep, creamy shade of ivory that makes it warm. The veining has such great energy like it’s dancing across the slab. I’d love to see a bathroom clad from top to bottom in this one.

12// white patagonia: this granite is an instant eye-catcher. Its rich browns, blacks, and soothing soft creams make it a timeless choice.
