The sofa didn’t look terrible (if you don’t mind an obnoxiously large sofa with boxy cushions that never really laid straight) but the worst part was that is was insanely uncomfortable. I mean really, how am I supposed to watch a Bachelor marathon if I can’t get cozy? The dogs seemed to have shared in our disdain and wanted to make that clear by chewing holes in the cushions in attempt to pull out all of the stuffing. You can see the old sofa above (pre canine treatment) and also in our design sponge home tour.
Well, we finally gave that couch the boot and welcomed in this new blue beauty from to H.D. Buttercup.
I am looking forward to updating a few things in our home and now that we have a new sofa, that we love, we are on the hunt for a new chair to compliment its fabulousness.I now only have room for one chair and I feel bad splitting the two yellow ones up (shown at the top) so I am selling them both. If you are interested and live in the LA area (local pick-up only) shoot me an email. They are from Urban Outfitters (& currently still available there) and in like-new condition. I’m asking $250 a piece or $450 for the pair. Let’s find these guys a good home. 🙂

Omg the color of your new sofa is everything! LOVE love LOVE it.
Sarah,
First off, you have such a lovely living room and I love the new HD Buttercup couch (sectional?). I want to ask you about the chairs though: I was looking at those chairs from Urban Outfitters (but in teal), but was worried about size and comfort. Are they worth it? Were you happy with them?
Thanks! Holly
What a beautiful blue couch!! It must look so pretty in person in the space! =)
Sorry I’m on the other side of the country with the chairs! They are beautiful though! =)
Love, love, love the new sofa, if only for the color. But hopefully your Bachelor marathons will be much more comfy now, too. 🙂
Thanks Kristen, Chloe and Lo! We are so happy with it. I was a bit wary of the color when I saw it in the store but as soon as I got it into the space I was like ahhhh yes. 🙂
Hey Holly! Yes its a sectional, that is why we are changing up the chairs … because we don’t have room for the two of them anymore. To answer your chair question… Yes, we were really happy with them. They are quite comfy for occasional chairs, two of my friends have the same chair in different colors and they both like them as well. Hope that helps!
Love the new color!
any chance you’d sell a copy of the photo of lake superior? i’m from wisconsin and we used to go up to bayfield and sail every summer. the photo brings back fond memories 🙂
Hi Kelli, Oh I know what you mean. It does the same for me. My piece of the Great Lakes while I’m in CA. Let me take a look at my photo archives and see if I can track the image down. I took it about 5 years ago and have had one major computer crash where I lost a ton of things. Hopefully I backed that image up. 🙂 I’ll shoot you an email if I can find it.
I am loving the wall color! Any chance you remember what it is? Your home is beautiful.
Hi Dandy, Do you mean that blueish color on the accent wall? It is by Behr and is called Smokey Slate.
Wow!! The new couch looks AWESOME. What a beautiful shade of blue 🙂
Thanks A.co! now just to get the rest of the room looking as good. 🙂
I love those chairs! I can’t imagine this will be a yes, but are they still available?
I love your style and your blog. I just discovered you through Pinterest. May i ask where is your coffee table from? LOVE LOVE it!
Hi Laura, thank you! I got the table from surfing cowboys a vintage furniture shop here in LA.
I’m obsessed with your sectional! Do you happen to remember the name of the model and fabric color? I’m hoping HD Buttercup still has it available!
I really love your blue sofa. Just to reiterate what a previous comment asked, would you happen to know the fabric name/color of the sectional?
Thanks!
Lisa
Hi Lisa,
Thanks! Karen (the previous comment) actually ended up buying the sofa from me because it didn’t fit into out new house! It was by HD buttercup and unfortunatly I don’t have any additional information on a model name or fabric color.
I LOVE your coffee table. I really want to find one like it. Any chance you would sell it? I wasn’t able to find it on either links you posted.
