It’s my favorite kind of post day… a final tour and before & afters! Here we are in the main bath, where we turned a ‘three different shades of pink palace‘ into a ‘soothing modern mini spa’.
To recap… about a year ago we gutted the entire space and started from scratch. I ordered every single item from the sink, to the tile, to the tub, right down to the toilet, online and in one evening (when I was 8 months pregnant). We removed the shower, rejigged the plumbing so there would be an in-bath shower instead of a separate (teeny tiny) one and made that space into a linen closet instead (pictured above with the new addition of those delish hex cabinet knobs). And then we tiled the whole darn room. 🙂
A few new additions like this brass wall shelf, the rug, toilet paper holder, and the shower curtain and rod finished off the space.
The shower curtain/rod situation is what held us up the longest. What they don’t show you online in any of the images of the curtain, is at the top of the curtain has big chrome grommets! Which was a bummer when it came to fitting into this bathroom. So, I cut the strip of grommets off and had small reinforced buttonholes sewn in so I could uses these pretty hooks. Much better.
Keep reading for all the sources and the before and after’s…
It’s a small space, but removing the vanity and the bulky cabinet over the toilet opened things up tremendously,
I do kind of miss that cute off center kissy face of a faucet/drain combo but then again, I don’t.
And finally… the shower that turned into a closet and serves us much better this way. So, there you have it! Archie doesn’t know how good he has it. Now onto that A-frame…
So amazing. I loved following along during the renovation process, but it’s so nice to see everything in it’s final state! This is the bathroom of my dreams. 🙂
I love this. I’m shamelessly going to copy it whenever I redo my bathroom. I also loved the kitchen remodel you did in your old cabin. I pinned that a while ago!
I love what you did with it! We’ve been in the process of decorating our bathroom for SO long now, and this has given me so much inspiration! I actually really like the black that you added in – I think I may have to give that a little go in our place somehow.
Hi Sarah! We have black matte penny tile in our bathroom but have had problems keeping the black grout clean and black. It gets whitish spots in places – maybe from water? But really I have no clue. How do you keep your grout true black? Thanks!
Hi Nicole! Ah, I have no secret for this. Ha. all I can say is this is the main bathroom so other than tub time for Archie it doesn’t get a lot of use. We use our master bathroom way more. Maybe you have hard water? You could get a whole house softener I think but that’s probably a very expensive solution. Haha
Have you sealed your tile recently? Tile really should be re-sealed every year but realistically none of us do it that often.
I have white subway tile behind my stove and it has been so much easier to keep it clean since I’ve started re-sealing it every year – this might help you with the spots on your black tile.
You can buy a spray-on product at the home store (that’s what I use) that is super easy to apply yourself.
This is amazing. I love every single selection! Funny- my BF and I are renovating our home and when he suggested a standing toilet paper holder, I was not convinced I could find a classy one. Words eaten. Every bit of this is stunning!

Hi Sarah: Wayfair (your source) says there are no trim, bullnose, or outside corners available for the white tiles. It looks like you have no shower niche, and not one outside corner in the room. Is this why? The reason I ask is I want to use these tiles, but I have two shower niches and a window to tile in.
Hi, I do have one outside corner, where the side of the bath (on the shower side) ends. I used a schluter to cover the edge. I chose no shower niche because the tub has a thick edge and I was using the tub caddie, so I didn’t feel it was necessary and I like how clean it is without. Hope that helps!

The herringbone tile on the wall is spectacular! I am trying to find “white” grout and cannot find a good match for my white subway tile. I really want the look you created with white on white. Could you share the white grout you used for the walls, we have searched everywhere….. thanks!
I am just now going through your blog and it is all so inspirational!
Those amazing black tiles are dreamy, will definitely keep that in mind when it’s my turn to renovate!
Sarah we’re redoing our bathroom after a housefire and I’m using your redo as the inspiration! I can’t find a supplier with a similar wall mount sink and feel too inexperienced to pick everything out myself on Wayfare. Whats the size and manufacturer of your selection? And what fixtures (trap etc)?
Hi Sarah, been following you for a while. Big fan. I love your bathroom and was wondering what finish are your kohler fixtures. I am thinking of using chrome and brass but not confident about mixing metals. I can’t tell if yours are French gold or chrome.
Any advice is much appreciated.
Hello! We are doing a project and need an ADA sink. I love the one you used in this bathroom. I know you said you purchased it through Wayfair but do you know who makes it?
Hey Sarah, very nice bathroom design!
I am trying to use the Cedar & Moss wall sconces but not sure if it will adequate since it’s only damp UL listed, not wet UL listed. Did it ever cause a problem from moisture that gathers up?
Hi Sarah! I love this remodel. After seeing this bathroom, namely the wall sink and how open and beautiful it is, I decided to get one for our own home. I love the drain assembly– I ordered the faucet expecting it to come with the drain assembly, but it didn’t. Could you share the source for where you found it? I have to complete the look! Thanks so much. xx
Love love love this bathroom! Unfortunately, I too am having trouble finding the sink. The link you provided doesn’t seem to direct me to it. Please advise when possible, I am dying to get my hands on it.
Hi, I am really interested in the sink too, but unfortunately the link only points to every sink available at wayfair. If you happen to know the manufacturer would you mind sharing?
I am obsessed with this sink. The link doesn’t work. I was hoping you would be able to see from your Wayfair purchase history the type of sink it is. Inquiring minds want to know! 🙂 Much appreciated….
Hi,
I realize it’s been some time, but this design is beautiful. I would like to purchase the wall and floor tiles, but both of the links send me to the general tile search on Wayfair. Would you be able to share the name of both tiles specifically? There are several options for both, of differing sizes, which makes me unsure. Thank you!
I love this bathroom too and have the same exact question. I just emailed her directly, if I hear back from her I will let you know which tiles she used.

The guy who did it sealed it, but maybe it does need another treatment. Thanks for your suggestions! I’ll figure it out one of these days! 🙂

Beautiful renovation and styling. The tile is extra special!
ugh – why do you have to make it look so fabulous 😛 I love love love it… not to mention every other room in your house.
I’m glad you finally answered the question how much gold is too much gold: there is no such thing!

Hi Sarah –
Love your reno! I am digging the gold plumbing under the sink. Can you share where you sourced? This makes a eyesore actually attractive!
I would love to know about the source of the gold plumbing as well. Thanks! Beautiful bathroom!
Hi! The gold plumbing beneath the sink is called a P trap and it is listed in the sources above! X

Do you have a style name for the sink, which you list as being from Wayfair. Also, how wide is the sink?
there is a link to the exact sink in the list of sources above!
Hi Sarah,
Love love love this bathroom! Unfortunately, I too am having trouble finding the sink. The link you provided doesn’t seem to direct me to it. Please advise when possible, I am dying to get my hands on it.

Any idea what grout you used for the subway tile? Color and brand if at all possible and width of grout line? Love how seamless it looks! Beautiful
Hi! On the walls it’s Snow White by poly lens and ok the floor it’s charcoal.
HI there,
love this reno. would you be able to link the brass plumbing fixture underneath the sink?
Thanks!
