I give glamping in Mexico a 10 out of 10. Well, maybe a 9.5… the .5 being taken off from a run-in with some angry bees, but aside from that the trip was pretty magical.

I’ve been to Mexico a few times now, but until now I have never driven across the border. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to hop in the car and 3.5 hours later be here, in Mexico’s wine county and what felt like a different world. Driving through Tijuana we made our way down the coast to our glamping lodging at Quatro Quatros. The tents are spacious and beautiful (the only downside being for a baby that is used to napping in the dark, there is no way to make a white tent dark in broad day light), as are the grounds. It is set on a vineyard and has an amazing restaurant on site, the food was incredible.

Oh and I was obsessed with the bathroom! ha Each tent is set on a platform which has a bathroom built onto it, attached to the back of the tent and they are gorgeous! complete with a outdoor/indoor rainfall shower.

There is also a hiking trail (or you can get a shuttle) which takes you to their outpost for special events that has beautiful views overlooking the Pacific.

Deeper into the valley (Valle de Guadalupe) is a place I have been wanting to stay at forevvverrrrr, and we originally were going to book here  until we found out they don’t allow kids. Wahh wahhhhhh. Although I understand why, Encuentro Guadalupe consists of these modern villas (little glass and steel boxes) that are perched on the side of the mountain and the grounds are a little precarious to navigate. We were, however, able to eat at their restaurant where we met up with friends (how cute is little A at the head of the table (above), and enjoy the view spanning the valley.

I have to say Archie loved Mexico and Mexico loved Archie right back. He has never been fawned over or squeezed or ooh and aahed at like he was there. I am guessing the blonde hair helped him out. We took him to one restaurant La Cocina De Doña Esthela and the hostess, waitress, and owner all took turns holding him! They were all really sweet with him, keeping him entertained while we ate. Also, this is the place to go for authentic Mexican while you are down there. It is a bit of a rough road on the drive in, and you will think you are turning up at someone’s house but the food was so good and like I said the staff was amazing.
