Every summer, I find myself reaching for the same things. Not because they’re trendy but because they work.

Summer is about the little joys: long walks, lake swims, sandy feet, watermelon slices, and slow evenings in the yard waiting for the fireflies to come out. Less is more. It’s not about having more stuff, it’s about having the right stuff. The things that make longer beach days possible, warm evenings more relaxing, and weekend getaways breezier to pack for.

Here’s what we’re loving this season:

l.l. bean cavas tote: my go to all year round but especially in the summer. It’s durable, roomy and easy to shake the sand out of.

sunglasses: obviously. love this green krewe pair!

foldable sun hat: this is a new one to me. Foldable?! Practical and packable 🙂

electrolyte drink mix: ok, I know electrolyte drinks are kind of everywhere and maybe a little overrated but I swear this one is different.  It has trace minerals and coconut water!

sundress: one that is breezy and breathable.

outdoor umbrella: one of our favorite pieces from the sss lulu outdoor collection!

the names book: in the middle of this book and it’s one of those that hooks you from the start. The theme of abuse is hard, but it’s handled thoughtfully.

one golden summer book: no summer is complete without a carley fortune beach read!

leopard swimsuit: like a little black dress, but for the beach!

sandals: ones you can rinse off the sand from the beach and wear straight to dinner.

jean shorts: enough said.
