It’s here, it’s here! Today is launch day for my signature line of cabinet doors I designed for SemiHandmade. If you’ve read my blog for any length of time you probably are not a stranger to SemiHandmade either. I used them in my own kitchen in LA and our A-frame kitchen. As well as some clients kitchens. They create high quality doors to fit on Ikea cabinetry so you can get the look of a custom kitchen without having to pay the price of a custom kitchen and you can use them on some of their bath and media cabinets as well.
About a year ago I was designing a kitchen for a client that wanted to use Semihandmade in their kitchen and that is when I came up with the idea of designing my own front and proposed the idea to John (Semihandmade founder) with some drawings and a rendering. I proposed the modern take on the classic bead board and John and his team produced it exactly as I imagined. Why a modern beadboard? I wanted to bring my modern version of the beadboard to market because of its clean design and its versatility. It can easily fit into a farmhouse style home paired with an apron sink and more traditional hardware while still giving the space an updated look. And it works equally as well in a very modern space with cleaner lines and paired down details. The simple geometry of the vertical lines convey a clean foundation without a ton of decoration but just enough detail to add some texture and simple pattern to the room. They have the ability to fit into kitchens of a range of styles depending on what they are paired with. For the collection we came up with 8 custom colors. A few of the colors I knew I had to have as they turn up in my client work and my own home so much, like the blush pink (blush) and the dark green (juniper), so I specified those. From there I of course wanted to make sure we had to all the basics, white, black, off-white etc and then I worked closely with Semihandmade to chose the rest of the colors from thermafoil samples. There is a warm grey (desert grey) which is close to a khaki color and another favorite is Agave (shown directly above) which is similar to my original cabinet color but reads more blue.
And now to share how these doors can work in the living room as well!…
For this 75″ credenza shown above (in 4 of the 8 colors available), this is your shopping list.
Semihandmade parts (available on the website November 20th) (4) 15″x30″ SSS door $129 each Doors/drawers $516

I couldn’t be more excited to see this collaboration come to life and I can’t wait to start seeing these doors turn up in peoples homes!
And if you are eyeing the pretty brass knobs and pulls, that is all from my line of hardware with Park Studio! I designed the half moon shapes specifically to coordinate with my cabinet door design. I wanted something that updated our modern take on the beadboard even more and working from my love of simple geometric shapes the half moon shape was the perfect compliment to the clean vertical lines, especially how they can come together to make a full circle.

Hello Sarah, these are so elegant and would be perfect for our new kitchen. One question–is there an appliance pull you’d recommend that would match these? Or could you use the largest pull in the collection for a dishwasher? Thank you so much!
Hi Sarah, I notice that in most of the photos with the bead board cabinets, you pair them with a brown wood countertop (which looks awesome!). I wonder if you’ve had luck with a white or off white countertop too… I’m thinking of using your white cabinets but don’t think I can swing having wood countertops in our kitchen. Thank you!
Your cabinets are amazing, as is the styling. I am a long-time fan of your design, and can’t wait to see your new home when it is done. Can you share the source of that gorgeous rug in the first few photos? It is stunning. If it is an antique, I think that you should make a rug that looks just like this one!
We have nearly new cabinets in the home we moved into but they are terrible! The brand is Kraftmaid and it feels terrible to tear them out because they are good quality. Would these fronts work with Kraftmaid cabinets?

Obsessed with this! Are we able to purchase the doors in other sizes as well? Also, where is the large print of the girl from?

Yes the doors come in all sizes to fit ikea boxes. The print is by Team Woodnote.
Love everything! Can you let us know where the dining table and chairs are from? Thank you!!
Are you able to Wall mount the 75 inch credenza? Do you need to buy frame and legs?
I also want to know answer! Please reply. Thanks.
This is so exciting! Love your color choices!
Congrats on yet another amazing collab! May I ask the photographers names on both prints? Gorgeous styling per usual!

Hi! We are in the process of developing an appliance pull. Right now I do have the largest mackinaw on a dishwasher to test out so far so good.
Thank you so much, Sarah!! We ordered it from Park Studio. Can’t wait to see it in our kitchen!
