We are hiring for an exciting new role: sss studio and gallery manager.
SSS Design is a multi-disciplinary design studio founded by Sarah Sherman Samuel focused at the intersection of interiors, architecture, art, and product development. With the launch of SSS Atelier, a collection of bespoke furniture and curated vintage, the studio continues to expand its creative reach into both physical and digital experiences.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Manager to join our team in a hybrid role spanning SSS Atelier Gallery, SSS Atelier e-commerce, and Sarah Sherman Samuel Design studio operations. This role will be the connective thread between Sarah’s creative vision and the operational excellence required to bring it to life across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, is passionate about design, and enjoys working hands-on in both customer-facing and behind-the-scenes settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the front-of-house lead for the SSS Atelier Gallery approx. 3 days/ week, providing a welcoming, knowledgeable presence for visitors.
- Manage daily gallery operations including scheduling, inventory, customer service inquiries, and shipping logistics.
- Ensure the gallery is consistently presented to brand standards and aligned with Sarah’s creative direction.
- Coordinate with Sarah and the team to plan and execute gallery events, product launches, and special exhibitions.
- Maintain and update the SSS Atelier website, including product launches, imagery, copywriting, and backend functionality.
- Ensure integration between gallery exposure and online representation, creating a seamless brand experience across physical and digital channels.
- Manage quarterly product photo shoots, coordinating photographer, product and photo deliverables for site launches and brand partners.
- Monitor online sales, reporting, and analytics; identify opportunities to improve the customer journey.
- Collaborate with marketing partners or in-house team to support digital storytelling, newsletters, and social integrations tied to SSS Atelier.
- Support Sarah and the design team with procurement, vendor communications, and project coordination.
- Capture images and video of real-time creative rollouts and brand endeavors for social media
- Track calendars, timelines and deliverables for interiors and product projects, ensuring smooth execution from concept to completion.
- Provide organizational and logistical support across Sarah’s diverse creative endeavors.
Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of experience in retail management, gallery management, merchandising, or related operational roles (design industry experience preferred).
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; confident in representing the SSS Atelier brand in public-facing settings.
- Comfort with digital platforms and e-commerce management (Shopify or similar).
- Passion for design, interiors, and craftsmanship.
- Proactive, resourceful, and flexible—able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
