After a week of my parents camping out in our living room on a fold out sofa, we figured we better treat them to a nice weekend away. The four of us packed up the car and headed for Joshua Tree, this time with our pups in tow. We went back to 29 Palms Inn where we lazed around in the courtyard outside our room (Irene’s Adobe is the best!), hiked around the national park, and soaked up some sunshine.
You know, just doing my best to keep up my New Years goal to take more weekend trips. 🙂 (finally a resolution I reeeally want to keep up with). See our last visit to Joshua Tree here and more from this one here.
Love your blog! I am planning to bring my dog to Joshua Tree but am not sure how dog friendly the hiking is. Do you miss out on a lot of the trails if you bring your dog?
Hi Melissa,
It isn’t super dog friendly but we didn’t run into any problems. We scrambled over rocks and took shorter trails around the campsites. There was only one trail that we wanted to take but couldn’t because of the dogs. Pikku and Cracker were in heaven climbing rocks in Indian Cove and around Arch Rock.
