This weekend we celebrated Rupe’s BIG birthday in Miami Beach with a bunch of old friends, in the town where our love story started. His friends flew in from LA, London, Chicago, New York, Nicaragua (!), the Bahamas, and a few from just down the street in Miami Beach. You know the saying to know “so and so” is to love “so and so” well, in Rupert’s case it is to meet Rupert is to love him. He is the most likable, genuine, charming, and compassionate person I have ever met. He can find the good in, and make a friend out of, anyone.

You just can’t not like Rupert and that was extra evident this weekend as we all swapped Rupe stories, and honored him in true South Beach style with a beach day meet up, poolside cocktail party, dance club after party and a bleary eyed brunch the day after. 11:30am came a lot earlier then I anticipated with the time change and a 5 AM end to the previous night (WAYYY past my bedtime and making us all feel extra old).

It was a happy birthday to my much better half, Rupert Samuel (aka RupeDog, aka Rooty Toot).
